Google has replaced with Currents app with Google Play Newsstand check out this post for more information.
No OS upgrade is free of problems and now it seems that my favourite news reader does not start any more. Google Currents crashes on launch every time. Deleting and reinstalling the app does not fix the problem. There appears to be no other workaround at the moment.
The
iTunes Store page for Currents has the following update:
iOS 8 Users: We are aware of the iOS 8 stability issues and will be providing an update shortly.
